Creating ideal multifunctional spaces with MEDITE MDF

When it comes to how we use our homes, it's fair to say that a lot has changed recently.

Now, no longer are our homes simply places to live; they must also offer the space and facilities to be our offices, gyms, entertainment venues and our children's classrooms.

Unsurprisingly, this has inspired an unprecedented number of people to make repairs, improvements and upgrades to their homes; 35.6% more people compared to 2019, to be exact.[1]

The concept of multifunctional spaces will be an ongoing trend as we move further into 2021, to accommodate this new work/life balance. This demonstrates that single-purpose spaces and furnishings are falling out of favour somewhat – a statement that has been shared by Forbes.[2]

Creating a multifunctional space with bespoke furnishings to suit these changing needs may sound challenging, but it's actually easier than you may think, whether creating a space for personal use or for a client. This is especially the case with products that offer all the versatility and reliability required for a professional to take something from concept to reality.

MEDITE SMARTPLY has continued to develop innovative, versatile and sustainable products, suitable for bespoke creations, interior fit outs, refurbishments and whatever can be imagined. The extensive range includes ten different families of MDF products and many variants, with over 400 possible specifications.

For example, MEDITE MDF panels were used to create the perfect aesthetics for a private client in South Kensington, London, who wanted to create a bespoke art-deco inspired home. Every room was designed to reflect the sleek opulence of the 1930s and 40s, allowing for both functionality and finesse.

The interiors were designed and created especially for the project by Infinitus Bespoke Interiors using MDF panels, including MEDITE MR, which features special moisture resistant properties.

The panels were cut by CNC router at the workshop of Infinitus Bespoke Interiors, and finished notably fast: "Using MEDITE MDF products saved us a lot of time which would have otherwise been spent planing timber. Instead, many of the decorative pieces left our workshop completely finished and ready for installation, saving time, energy and the client's money," Andrew Fishwick, Director at Infinitus Bespoke Interiors, confirmed.

"The best thing about it though, was that we were able to create literally anything we needed for this project out of it."

Now, joiners, carpenters, furniture makers, or anyone with an interest in MDF for creating new, innovative or bespoke structures can now join MEDITE SMARTPLY's new members-only community.
